Welcome! Just a little bit about me….

I’m Rebecca!

I’m a Functional Nutritional Nutritionist (FNTP) and a Restorative Wellness Solutions Practitioner (RWP). I was born in a small town in Idaho, but I currently reside in Southern Arizona with my amazing husband Jesse and my two beautiful children, Jackson and Juliet. I’m excited to share with you about my health journey and to guide you on your own path to optimal wellness.

I’ve always had a passion for food. As a young girl I spent countless hours in the kitchen with my mother learning to bake, many more hours with my father in awe of his ability to create savory meals from scratch and finally I was given a true traditional foods education from my amazing grandmother. Food is part of my soul. The smells, the textures and the memories associated with food take me to the past, present and future!

I like to think that food is what paved my path to Nutritional Therapy, but I think all of my life choices brought us together. In my mind, a journey has no true beginning nor end, rather it just is. My health journey has no absolute beginning, but rather is defined by a cascade of events and self awareness that led me to seek alternatives to make different choices and to find better solutions.

After I gave birth to my first child I started to notice I was just not feeling like myself. I was just given the most precious gift from God, a child, you would think I would be ecstatic and I was but my body was telling me that something just wasn’t right. Some would say I was experiencing postpartum symptoms, which I probably was, but in hindsight my whole body was completely imbalanced and I had limited self awareness and knowledge at the time to guide myself through those challenges. Back pain, digestive discomfort, chronic fatigue and too much self-inflicted stress got the best of me. FYI, I’m a master at stressing the small stuff (not recommended).

Multiple visits with chiropractors to address my back pain, lots of internet research trying to “diagnose” myself, food experimentation but not really sure where to start and lots of midnight therapy sessions with the husband to try to bounce out of my mental funk. All my intentions were good but my approach was lackluster. To be honest, I never committed to anything, therefore I never got any real results.

Fast forward, I became more body aware, which helped me correct my poor posture, which improved my back pain and I really started to focus on the power of food. I cleaned up my diet and then I found the Nutritional Therapy Association. What I discovered about myself during my FNTP training helped me address my root problem...STRESS! The impact of stress on the function of the whole body is undeniable. To be blunt, stress can impede all functions within the body and cause complete chaos within your system leaving you feeling completely disconnected from your body and mind. Now to be clear, I’m no master of managing my stress but I’m actively practicing techniques to greatly enhance that part of my life.

As I mentioned earlier, I started to focus on food and how my body was responding to what I was feeding myself. What I found out was there is a direct relationship between the foods I ate and the health of both my body and mind. Food was a game changer for me. I continue to seek out a balanced nutrient profile for my body and fully understand that it will constantly change. Nutrition is not a destination, rather it is a continued practice to help us evolve and adapt to all the many changes and trials of life.

Today I’m still actively pursuing my health and I’m proud to say it is gratifying, exhausting, and down right hard! But it is worth every ounce of energy I choose to put forth because in the end I’m worth it and I’m more valuable to my family and others when I’m at my best. We all have our own unique nutrition needs that will help develop a healthy body and mind. Finding that balance can be challenging but I’m excited to help guide you on your health journey that has no defined beginning or end!
